Hi, I am Joel Kingsley, a Mobile and Full-Stack Developer with a passion for creating purposeful, mobile-first digital experiences for people around the world. I was born in Chennai, and spent 25 years of my life in the northern part of the city, Thiruvottiyur.

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering and working for about five years at EY in mobile and full-stack development, I decided to move to Germany in 2023 to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Paderborn University. After two years of balancing studies, work, and learning German, I graduated in December 2025 and now work as a Full-Stack Developer at a company in Paderborn.

Running is a reminder to me — a reminder that I have to keep pushing even when there are plenty of reasons to stop. Even when people around me think I’m crazy for running late at night, or when my legs tell me that I should probably go home and collapse on the couch.
I keep going because I believe in making it to the finish line, in finishing what I start. I’ve been running for over eight years, completing multiple 10K races and half marathons, and logged more than 1,450 kilometers in total.

I am a Baptist Christian, and I believe that salvation comes through believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not believing and going to church, not believing and reading the Bible, and not believing and being baptized—but simply believing in what Jesus Christ has already accomplished on the cross.
I believe that good works are not required to be saved or to remain saved, although we are commanded to do them after salvation. And once a person is saved, they are saved forever. Salvation cannot be lost.

Over here I write blog posts on programming, running, and way of life.
